I am a question driven ecologist who seeks to understand how population demography and environmental gradients affect the movement of individuals across the landscape, and ultimately, metapopulation persistence. I combine theory from animal behavior and population biology with experiments, field studies, and robust quantitative approaches to mechanistically understand the process of dispersal and predict the resulting patterns of population dynamics and gene flow. My research primarily focuses on amphibians and damselflies (Hexapoda: Zygoptera), two groups of animals found throughout many aquatic ecosystems.
I am also involved in a number of collaborative projects, including STEM education research. Please view my research page to learn more about my current projects and ongoing collaborations. |
